Masters in Medical Science and Postgraduate Diploma Occupational and Environmental Health


2004-12-06 to 2004-12-06

This programme is intended to provide graduates with the knowledge, skills and competence in the fields of occupational and environmental health. The course will provide health professionals with the skills necessary to render effective, ethical and quality occupational and environmental health services in the private, public and academic sectors.

Masters students will have to complete 8 core and 4 specialist track modules and a masters level dissertation over the three year period. Modules are generally offered as a week long block release. This programme has specialist streams in Environmental Health, Occupational Hygiene and Occupational and Environmental Medicine Students completing the necessary coursework may graduate at the end of two years with a Diploma in Occupational Health.

Applicants should have as a minimum, a Bachelor of Science (honours). All applicants must complete the necessary application forms, together with their curriculum vitae and a motivation indicating their current or future role in occupational and environmental health, and their level of computer literacy.
