2005-10-16 to 2005-10-29The Human Rights Centre of Ghent University (Belgium), the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM) at Utrecht University (The Netherlands), the Faculty of Law of University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and the International Federation of Health and Human Rights Organisations (IFHHRO) have pleasure in announcing the 4th International Human Rights Academy which will take place in Cape Town South Africa.
Courses include the Universal System of Protection of Human Rights, the Regional Systems of Protection of Human Rights, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law and Transitional Law. Furthermore, specific topics such as social & economic rights, children's & women's rights, minority rights, refugees, torture, universal jurisdiction, human rights & foreign policy, human rights from an Asian & Arab perspective, etc. are also included. Lectures are given by prominent academic and non-academic speakers from all continents. The various intensive courses that make up the Academy are designed to provide high quality legal education in comparative international human rights and in humanitarian law, with emphasis on the practical aspects in the various fields especially health.
