It is regarded as the most comprehensive and authoritative publication available on monitoring changes and challenges in provision of equitable and accessible health care in the country.

The 12th edition of the Review was launched in December 2007 and focuses on the Role of the Private Sector within the South African Health System.

The Review looks at a number of core issues including: Stewardship, Health Policy and Legislation, Health Care and Financing, Medical Schemes, Health Information Systems, Human Resources for Health, Public-Private Partnerships, Private Hospitals, HIV/AIDS and TB in the Private Sector.
