District Health Barometer - Current HST activities related to the DHB concept

The HST is currently involved in a number of activities which relate to the DHB, which will provide some baseline infrastructure, expertise and linkages. These include:

• South African Health Review publication
• Online health indicators database
• Contract to support the NDoH with strategic planning processes
• Joint ISDS/HISP work on DHIS and health information systems

In addition, DoH efforts in the area of health information systems development (such as the development of the provincial strategic planning framework, district reporting requirements, updating of the minimum data set, revamping the District Competition) are expected to impact positively on the proposed DHB.
