1. Barriers to Implementation of the Choice on Termination of Pregnancy Act

Principal investigator: Jaine Roberts
Description: A quantitative and qualitative descriptive study of the implementation of the termination of pregnancy act in KwaZulu Natal.
Duration: July 2005 – July 2007

2. Antiretroviral Adherence Study in five sites in KwaZulu Natal

Funder: USAID through MEASURE Evaluation – the ADHERE Project.
Principal investigator: Sibongile Mkhize supervised by Jaine Roberts; supported by Irwin Friedman and Elizabeth Lutge.
Description: Qualitative study of adherence to ART experience of patients at five sites in KwaZulu Natal.
Duration: Planned as a nine month study from the date of commencement.

3. Formative Evaluation of VCT Infrastructure Development in Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal Provinces.

Funder: Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA)
Principal Investigator: Nandy Mothibe
Description: The study is a follow up to a large scale intervention that aims to improve VCT facilities in three provinces following a baseline study undertaken several years ago. It aims to assess the impact of the improvements on VCT services.
Duration: July 2007 to March 2008.
