Ratio of private to public sector per capita health expenditure

DefinitionTotal private per capita expenditure divided by total public sector per capita expenditure.
Public health sector expenditure is divided by the population covered (public sector dependent population)
Private sector is total medical scheme expenditure divided by number of beneficiaries.

Where expressed as a single figure, is private/public per capita expenditure. i.e. for 2002/03 private expenditure per person is about 7.1 times higher than public sector expenditure per person.
