Senior Research Officer: HIV, Health Systems & Infant Feeding The Health Systems Trust is a developmental organization that uses research primarily to strengthen policy making and programme implementation at the coalface of the health system. We are looking for an experienced and committed health professional to form part of a dynamic team to assist with the improvement of HIV related services. Particular areas of focus include: -Infant Feeding and HIV -The delivery of basic HIV services at clinic level -The management of HIV in district hospitals Mother-to-child transmission. The job will entail the following duties and responsibilities: -Conducting regular literature reviews on topics related to HIV, and synthesizing the information for the benefit of policy makers, health workers and the general public. -Managing commissioned research projects. -Helping to organise and provide feedback to National, Provincial, District and Site managers of the findings from the research and evaluation -Providing on-going technical support and assistance to the national and provincial Departments of Health Requirements: *The ideal candidate will have an under-graduate degree in medicine, preferably with some clinical experience, as well as a post-graduate degree in public health. Candidates with other health science qualifications will also be considered. The candidate should be prepared to travel extensively, and have the appropriate inter-personal skills to work with busy service providers, health managers and health policy makers. The ability to write and communicate well is an important requirement for this post. Remuneration: This is a contract position. HST's salary and remuneration package is based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. Remuneration
