Clinical Nurse Trainer - HIV/AIDS/STI's Location: RHRU Esselen Street Clinic The RHRU is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced candidate to become a member of a new RHRU Esselen Clinic. This project will build on the foundations established by the existing Esselen Street Clinic . The individual selected must be able to work with diverse groups, including sex workers and their partners, on a team and an individual basis and will have the following responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: · Training: The post is responsible for participation in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate nurses, medical students and other healthcare professionals in STI/ HIV clinical skills. The incumbent will also be responsible for the development of the appropriate training materials. · Research: The incumbent will participate in research projects undertaken at the clinic. · Service Delivery: The incumbent will participate in the clinic service delivery, expert referral services and ensure ongoing peer review. Essential Selection Criteria: · Postgraduate (or equivalent) nursing degree · Clinical experience in STI's/ HIV · Clinical teaching and research experience · Proven track record in training material development · Report writing and above average computer skills · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal · Ability to travel and in possession of a valid driver's license together with having your own vehicle is required. · Commitment to the delivery of sustainable sexual and reproductive health programmes for all South Africans · It would be desirable if applicants speak the following languages: Swahili, French and Portuguese The contract will be for 1 year. The reproductive Health Research Unit (RHRU) is one of the foremost South African Research Institutions engaged primarily in research and training in the field of reproductive health. The RHRU is an academic centre within the University of the Witwatersrand.
