Deputy Director - Integrated Nutrition Programme

The Health Systems Trust is a non-government organization that facilitates health systems development and the improvement of health care delivery. It works in partnership with health providers to improve health care for all.
Responsibilities:
- Liaison with key stakeholders including government, academic institutions and funders
- Support the Director in providing leadership and management of the HST’s INP (development of strategic INP priorities and agenda, operational plans and budgets)
- Proposal writing and fundraising for INP projects
- Support the Director in providing supervision and support to professional staff.
- Oversee the preparation for publications by the facilitators.
- Ensure the dissemination and sharing of lessons learnt from projects
- Ensure inter-programme collaboration within HST
- Develop linkages with relevant projects regionally and internationally
- Identify research questions and liaise closely with the HST’s Research Programme and other institutions.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should be in possession of post-graduate health (or equivalent) and management/leadership qualifications. The candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in public health and research management. Good writing skills will be an advantage.
Remuneration:
A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HST’s Job grading will be offered to the successful candidate.
Prospective incumbents should be prepared to travel, and preferably be based in Durban or Johannesburg.
A 1 year renewable contract
