Researcher: HIV/AIDS Treatment Monitor

The Health Systems Trust is a Non-Government Organisation which is a Key role player in facilitating Health systems research and development in SA We are seeking to appoint a (Senior) Researcher on a contract basis to manage and coordinate an HIV/AIDS Treatment Monitor Project. In its first year the project will focus on conducting a baseline assessment of HIV/AIDS antiretroviral treatment programmes in the public and private sectors; and facilitating collaboration and joint planning between public and private sector HIV treatment programmes. The following key performance areas are applicable: * Overall Project Management and Coordination * Interact with key stakeholders on an ongoing basis * Identify and manage suitable researchers or consultants for different components of the project * Implement applied research, and ensure quality of research and reports * Ensure dissemination of knowledge generated by project Requirements: This is a professional post within the Research Programme of HST. Prospective candidates should be in possession of a postgraduate public health qualification and at least 5 years experience in research and public health. S/he should demonstrate knowledge and experience in the field of HIV/AIDS and Primary Health Care, and have relevant research and project management experience. Remuneration: A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HST’s Job grading will be available. This is a 1-year contract position, which will be reviewed annually depending on future needs. The incumbent should be prepared to travel, and will be based in either Durban, Johannesburg or Cape Town.
