The Health Systems Trust is a non-government organisation that actively supports the development of an equitable comprehensive health system that provides quality health care. We have a vacancy for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who will provide leadership to the organization, support the Board of Trustees in developing strategic plans and organizational policies, and ensure good governance of the HST.

The responsibilities of the successful applicant include:

• Programme/project development: Translating the strategic mission of the organization into implementable programmes and projects,
• Programme/project integration and coordination: Ensuring integration of programme/project activities around key organizational goals and objectives
• Organisational and financial management: Establishing and/or improving appropriate organizational structures and systems necessary for good governance and compliance with relevant legislation and standards/codes
• Fund-raising: Ensuring that the HST secures the necessary resources needed to carry out its programme of action and to ensure that the obligations of funders are met.
• Public relations and liaison: Providing profile to the organization within the environment it operates and ensuring proper liaison and communication with relevant stakeholders, including government and funders.

Requirements
This is a senior leadership position. The ideal candidate should be in possession of a post-graduate public health (or equivalent) and management/ leadership qualifications. The candidate should also have no less than 10 years of relevant management experience (at least 5 years in a top level position) in medium to large size organisations.

Remuneration:
A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HSTs Job grading will be offered to the successful candidate.

This is a 3 year contract position, and will be extended depending on the incumbents performance and need for the position by the HST.

The incumbent should be prepared to travel.
