Health Information Systems Technical Advisor: Integrated PHC Project under TASC II

HST seeks to employ a Health Information Systems Technical Advisor for the Integrated PHC Project, to be based in Pretoria.

LOCATION: PRETORIA

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide health information systems technical support to the IPHC project, to provincial co-ordinators and selected Districts in strengthening of management and information systems to support the achievement of the projects objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strengthening health information components of key elements of service delivery at PHC level of the District Health System
  • Build effective health information systems capacity in selected Provinces and districts,
  • Assist in implementation of a comprehensive project monitoring and evaluation plan
  • Contributing to project and organisational well-being

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

  • Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in health or social science
  • A post graduate qualification in Public Health or related field would be an advantage

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years relevant Public Health working experience,
  • working experience in area of Health Information Systems and/or epidemiology.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience in Public Health an advantage

Competencies

  • Technically and Operationally competent
  • Supervisory / management skills and proficiency
  • Proficient in facilitating skills, group skills and dynamics, conflict management and managing diversity
  • Understanding of relevant technical skills with focus on PHC, DHS and priority programs such as STI/HIV, TB and MCWH.
  • Knowledge and experience of health support systems such as drug management and transport management.
  • Computer literate (internet, e-mail, MsOffice programs as well as DHIS)
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Good presentation skills

REMUNERATION : A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HSTs Job grading will be offered to the successful candidates.
