Public Health Lecturer /Senior Lecturer

The Department of Public Health at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Public Health Lecturer/Senior Lecturer for a fixed term period of one (1) year. The academic title of the successful incumbent will be determined during the selection process.
Key Requirements:
- A Master's Degree (Lecturer/PhD/Senior Lecturer) in Public Health, Health
Management or its component disciplines. Candidates without these qualifications
may be appointed at another academic level
- Evidence of research experience at lecturer level
- Evidence of recent research output at Senior lecturer level
- Experience in undergraduate and post graduate teaching in Public Health
/Health Management
- Possess good communication, facilitation, supervisory and organizational
skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player
- Fully computer literate
The following additional requirements are advantageous:
- French speaking
- Comprehensive understanding of University rules and procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic co-ordination of the Graduate Programme in Public Health
- Education and assessment Public Health students
- Development of modules and evaluation of education programmes in all components
of the discipline of Public Health Medicine at undergraduate and post graduate
levels
- Undertake and supervise Public Health research and health service evaluations
- Assist in the academic administration and co-ordination of the Public Health
programmes
