Clinical Lecturer: Primary Care

3 YEAR CONTRACT
Requirements:
- MBBCh or equivalent degree and registration with the Health Professions Council of SA as a medical practitioner
- At least 5 years clinical experience in primary care or district health
Recommendations:
- A postgraduate qualification relevant to primary care
- Teaching experience
- Research experience
- Rural hospital experience
The incumbent will be required to:
- Assist with coordination of the Integrated Primary Care (IPC) block for final year medical students
- Facilitate clinical activities of students during the IPC block
- Liaise with new and existing learning sites and health centres in Gauteng and North West Province to ensure the development of the programme
- Provide training and support to local supervisors
- Facilitate assessment of students working with the IPC teams
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of the block and of the sites
- Develop and implement appropriate research linked to the student programme
- Assist with other undergraduate teaching and assessment
- Contribute to other activities of the Division
The successful candidate will serve as a coordinator of the Integrated Primary Care Block programme for final year medical students within the Division of Rural Health.
